Great Ellingham Parish Council

Village sign

The Parish Council is the first tier of Local Government and exists to represent the interests of the parish. In many cases the role is advisory only, with the final decisions resting with the District Council. There are nine parish councillors, elected every four years. If vacancies occur in-between elections, details will be published on the website and on noticeboards. The role of parish councillor is voluntary and attracts no payment. The parish council meet on the third Wednesday of every month, with no meeting in August or December, unless there are planning applications requiring discussion.

Great Ellingham Parish Council

Welcome to the new Great Ellingham Parish Council website. This site is not intended to be a replacement for the excellent village website found here but has been set up as a means for the parish council to keep parishioners and other interested parties updated with parish council news. The site is currently under development but more information will be added over the coming months.
